Be it a night hike, all day expedition, family hike or ramble around town, hiking keeps you fit, gets you out and about in the fresh air. Exploring the outdoors challenges you with discoveries and new ideas. Hiking helps scouts to develop many skills including planning, teamwork and leadership.
Hiking and Hillwalking are a central part of the scout calendar at 1st Finchley Scout Group with local and trips further afield to places like the Brecon Beacons & the Lake District.
We work with Scouts giving them the skills to be able to handle a map & compass, plan a route, know what kit is needed along with what to do in an emergency so that in time they can lead their fellow scouts on an expedition.
